Description
In this paper Majorana calculates the probability of a spin 1/2 particle
to flip it's spin when crossing the near surrounding of a zero field
region. Most people use the methods in this paper to calculate the
probability for flipping a spin if a particle traverses a region with a
magnetic field gradient. I consider this as an illegitimate use of this
formula as the transition in this case can not be treated classically
and a proper solution of the Schrödinger Equation is required.
